Commander Mark W. Roemhildt
CDR Mark Roemhildt is originally from St. Peter, MN and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he received a degree in International Relations and his commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program.
Upon graduation and commissioning, CDR Roemhildt reported to the USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44) in Norfolk, VA as the Combat Information Center (CIC) Officer and Weapons Officer. Later, he reported to Amphibious Squadron SIX, also in Norfolk, VA, as the Staff Communications Officer.
CDR Roemhildt then reported to Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA where he received a Master of Science Degree in Systems Engineering geared specifically towards Information Warfare.
His first Department Head tour was onboard the USS GEORGE PHILIP (FFG 12) in San Diego, CA, and his second Department Head tour was as the Staff Exercise & Engagement Officer for Destroyer Squadron FIFTY in Manama, Bahrain.
Later, he reported to Military Sealift Command – Europe in Naples, Italy as the assistant Operations Officer. CDR Roemhildt then served as Executive Officer in USS FORT McHENRY (LSD 43) & USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) homeported in Sasebo, Japan. Following his Executive Officer tour, he then served as the Surface Warfare Requirements Officer for the staff of Commander, Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI.
He and his wife, Gabriela, have two daughters, Raina and Rebekah.
