LT Ryan Stofferahn

LT Stofferahn, of Henderson, Nevada, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000. Upon commissioning, he was selected as a Naval Flight Officer, and attended flight school in Pensacola, Florida, where he received his wings of gold in September, 2001.
LT Stofferahn was then assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 129 at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, where he was trained to fly the EA-6B Prowler aircraft. After completion of the training syllabus, he was transferred to Electronic Attack Squadron 140 (The Patriots), also based at Whidbey Island. As a member of the Patriots, LT Stofferahn deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2004 aboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73), and flew numerous sorties over Iraq in direct support of troops on the ground. Also while assigned to VAQ-140, LT Stofferahn deployed in 2005 to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, in support of national objectives in the far east.
LT Stofferahn was appointed the Aviation Officer at the NROTC Unit, University of Idaho in 2006. In 2007, while still assigned to the NROTC, LT Stofferahn deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as an individual augmentee to the US Army. While deployed, LT Stofferahn served as the Electronic Warfare Officer for the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade. He returned during the summer of 2008.
